🧪 Method of Selection – OPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025
The OPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025 process will be carried out through a written test based on the Odisha Medical Education Service Rules, 2021. In rare cases, selection may also include qualified Assistant Professors from other Broad Specialities. For subjects like Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology, non-medical candidates with an M.Sc. & Ph.D. may be considered if medical candidates are not available, but only up to 15% of total posts in each discipline.
Important Note: Even if non-medical candidates score higher, medical candidates will get preference during selection for Anatomy, Biochemistry & Physiology.
🧾 Exam Pattern – OPSC Assistant Professor Written Test
- Total Marks: 200
- Number of Questions: 200 MCQs
- Marking Scheme: +1 for each correct answer, -0.25 for each wrong answer
- Unattempted Questions: 0 marks
- Duration: 3 hours
- Qualifying marks: As decided by OPSC
Candidates who clear the cutoff will be shortlisted for document verification, twice the number of total vacancies, subject to a minimum of 5 per category.

- For Medical M.Sc. candidates: As per the NMC syllabus of the Broad Speciality
- For MD/MS candidates: MCI/NMC-approved syllabus of relevant Broad Speciality
🌍 Odisha Preference Rule
In case two candidates score equal marks, Odisha natives or residents will be given preference over non-residents. If tie persists, higher MBBS marks and then older age will determine the ranking.
